Yes, that's right.
Our baby, our road
warrior, our home
away from home is
for sale. God
brought us the
opportunity a few
months ago to move
into another bus
that has a shower!!
Jim is thrilled!
So... if you're in
the market for a
well kept 1995 Eagle
Model 15, and
we'll fill you in on
the details. We've
always taken good
care of this bus and
know it has many
miles to go. Price?
Michael said he
asking for a million
(ha ha) but knows
he'll probably have
to come down a
little. He also
wanted to clear up
one rumor. Yes, it
is true that Scott
Fowler was been on
the bus at one time,
but Michael assures
us that the bus was
completely fumigated
afterwards. For more

Review New CD
After the
initial reaction of
WOW, there is only
one word for this
project.
Creative!!!! Of
course the fantastic
harmonies are there,
after all, it’s the
Booth Brothers.
These guys have
taken some songs
that would be covers
for anyone else, and
made each song
theirs. I know this
was supposed to be a
table project, but
this recording is as
good as any label
project that I have
ever heard.
There are some nice
old hymns of the
church on this CD
that the guys have
made fresh and new.
“Tell Me The Story
Of Jesus” has a
little bit of a
progressive sound to
it, while “What A
Friend We Have In
Jesus” is just laid
back, traditional
and worshipful.
While listening to
“Without The Lord”
you are thinking
that you could
easily be listening
to a tune by Jake
Hess and the
Imperials.
So, now that I think
of it, I guess there
are two words to
describe this
recording. Creative
is one, and variety
is the other. It’s
not just the variety
of song styles but
the variety of the
arrangements. Take
two songs written by
traditional Southern
Gospel writers Mosie
Lister and John
Matthews. “You Are
My Song”, written by
Lister and “The One
That I Love” penned
by Matthews could
have been sung by
any Southern Gospel
group, yet the
musical tracks bring
them up to date
stylistically.
The JD Sumner song,
“What A Morning,”
has that great Bass
part that comes on
with an Elvis feel,
which I’m sure JD
would approve of.
This is one of my
favorite songs on
the CD. I will say
that you do not
think of Jerry Goff
at all when you hear
this arrangement of
“I’ll See You In The
Rapture”.
Even though they
make some of the
arrangements on a
couple of the older
songs fairly
progressive, they
take two songs that
would probably be
considered
contemporary and
they give them very
strong Southern
Gospel
interpretations.
“Crucified With
Christ” and “Trust
His Heart” are sure
to bless you and you
can forget that they
ever originated in
Contemporary
Christian music.
These two songs will
have you sitting
back and worshipping
in sweet communion
with the Lord.
There are twelve
great songs on this
CD and you will not
want to skip any of
them as you listen
to this CD over and
over. This is one
Booth Brothers CD
that will be a must
for every Gospel
Music fan.

New Project
1
of His Own: The
Booth Brothers
(MorningStar)
By Dean Adkins
1 of
His Own is the
latest project by
the Booth Brothers.
This trio consists
of Ronnie Booth and
his sons Ron and
Michael. Some may
remember Ronnie from
the days he sang
tenor with the
famous Rebels
Quartet.
"New Shoes"
is the first song on
the recording and
was written by Mosie
Lister. I think it
should be the first
release for radio
play from this
project. It has a
swing rhythm, and
Ron handles the lead
vocals. "New
Shoes" describes
putting on the whole
armor of God and
emphasizes the
spread of the
Gospel.
Other
tunes from 1 Of His
Own include "Up
There, Somewhere,"
a slow, ethereal
sounding song that
is remiscent of
Aaron Neville's and
Linda Ronstadt's
popular
"Somewhere Out
There". "Scars"
is another slow song
with tight harmony
and the message
of
spiritual healing.
An old standard,
"What A Happy Day"
is given an
upbeat rollicking
treatment with a
driving bass line.
"The Love That
Lifts Me" is a
medium tempo number
with encouraging,
uplifting lyrics.
The Booth's
rendition of"Lord I Need Your
Touch" is
basically the same
as the version
previously recorded
by the Bishop's (and
probably uses the
same music tracks).
Praise and worship
songs include "O
Lord How Wonderful
You Are" and
"O For A Thousand
Tongues;" both
exhibit tight
harmonies. "At
The Cross" is an
acappella cut that
includes Melissa
Booth Sims, Ron's
daughter. The family
harmony is evident
on this old church
standard.
The Booth Brothers
have that tight
harmony and blend
that is often a
trademark of family
groups. If one
combined the sounds
of Greater Vision,
the Bishops, and the
original Rangers
Trio, this would
describe the sound
of the Booths. The
only drawback is the
dynamics of their
stage presence
cannot be totally
captured on an audio
project. Melissa
