In 1974 he was the leading Pro Stock drag racer in the US
Wally Booth started his racing career in the in 1964 and reached his peak in 1974 in the Pro Stock category racing the AMC Hornet on display here. He was a consultant to the Roger Penske racing team for their 1974 Matador racing on the NASCAR circuit. He became involved with AMC with the Gremlin X in 1972. In mid 73 he switched to the more aerodynamic AMC Hornet and went on to his most winning race year with this car doing the _ mile drag strip in 8 seconds and reaching 150 MPH.
